My values were forged by the story of a people who through faith, hard work, and excellence afforded me the experiences to use the law to benefit dreamers and doers. My family taught me the most important lesson of my professional life: people matter and how you treat them matters even more. I have dedicated my practice to embracing the needs of all of you who build things – housing, businesses, organizations, and lives. My Professional Background

I have practiced law at the firm of Stanley & Cook, PLLC, and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). I counsel real assets developers on closing complex government-insured multifamily housing transactions. I assist businesses to organize and position themselves for growth as well as to protect their intellectual property. I am a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.

I received my law degree with honors from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. I earned an M.Phil. degree from Cambridge University (England), where I wrote my graduate thesis on the impact of globalization on the developing world. I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC. 

Outside my legal career, I was formerly an executive director within a national nonprofit. I have also worked in Washington, DC at the U.S. Department of State. I was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and earned both the Army Achievement Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. An alumnus of Leadership Houston, I am the Chair of the Boards of Directors of The Woods Project and former Board member of UhamboUSA. The Houston Jr. Chamber of Commerce named me as one of Five Outstanding Young Houstonians (FOYH). EBONY Magazine profiled me as a leader under 40 to watch. The German Marshall Fund of the United States selected me as a Marshall Memorial Fellow, affording me the unique opportunity to liaise with civic, business, and government leaders in five European cities.

In my free time, I enjoy taking long walks with my family and acting silly with my little girl, as well as running, hiking, urban exploring, and conversing with interesting people over copiously large meals.
